Susan Alger began at the Lamb Center in August of 2023 as the Volunteer Manager. Susan’s experience leading volunteers began at age 16 with the Virginia Lung Association, and has continued through a 27-year career in conservation law enforcement as a Virginia State Game Warden in Fairfax County. Over the past 13 years, Susan worked as the Volunteer Coordinator, Manager and Director of Volunteers and Community Engagement for a Northern Virginia social services nonprofit, where she managed up to 6000 volunteers a year, and secured donations to meet the needs of the poor. She is the proud mother of to her “voluntold”, Kyle, who grew up volunteering alongside her. After living for many years in her adopted hometown of Herndon, Susan now resides in the Shenandoah Valley community where she was raised.
