Linn Williams has had more than 35 years of experience in business, law, and government, working mostly in matters where business and public policy interact.  Most recently, he was in the global independent electricity generation business at Edison Mission Energy and Mirant Corporation, from which he retired in 2009.  He was appointed by President George H.W. Bush to be Deputy U.S. Trade Representative, with the rank of Ambassador, and by President Reagan to be General Counsel of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation.  Linn practiced corporate law in Washington D.C. and Tokyo in the 1970s and 80s.  He grew up in Oklahoma City, and was educated at Princeton College, Harvard Law School, and Cambridge University (to which he was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship, a Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Humanities, and a Ford Foundation Fellowship).  He has served on numerous corporate and not-for-profit boards, including corporate joint ventures in the US, UK, Italy, and Turkey, the East West Center, the World Affairs Council, the Benham Group, and the Hill Manuscript Library.  Linn started volunteering at the Lamb Center about four years ago and is now the regular Monday morning laundry guy.  He has been married to Noriko Kurosawa for 45 years, lives in McLean and Tokyo, has two grown children, and attends McLean Presbyterian and Falls Church Anglican.
