Katie was born at Ft. Belvoir Hospital and then moved around quite a bit as the child of an Air Force family. Her dad retired while she was a student at Fairfax High School and she has called Northern Virginia home ever since. Katie earned a BA degree in Psychology with a minor in Religious Studies from George Mason University. She then went on to earn an MEd in special education from GMU. Katie began her career as a special education teacher and then administrator, working in an elementary school, a middle school, and a private special education school. Katie first became familiar with the Lamb Center while on staff at Burke United Methodist Church where she worked for 12 years as Preschool Director, then Director of Children and Youth Discipleship, and most recently as Director of Outreach. When Katie is not at the Lamb Center, she is usually running around getting her 3 children to all of their various activities. Additionally, she enjoys camping, doing yard work, reading, going for walks and spending time with her husband (Dave) and her 3 children (Casey, Sasha, and Zac).
